I don’t know if you have noticed lately, but there have been many people being exposed in this hour. Their sins brought to light and exposed for the entire world to see. Many of us have prayed for these lies of deception and wickedness to be exposed. We knew it was just a matter of time before their own actions would cause their downfall.

But there is one thing that has been troubling me. I am reminded of the Religious leaders who shouted, to put Jesus to death. They wanted Him to be exposed, not so that He could repent, (he did nothing wrong) but so that they could have their way. There was no mercy, no saving grace. I wonder if we are not doing the very same thing. We keep shouting, how we want the leaders and sinners to be exposed. But why? Is it so that they will repent and turn back to the Father? If so it doesn’t appear to be. It seems, as I am watching people, its nothing more than an angry mob of religious hypocrites.

They don’t want repentance. They don’t want God to change their heart. They want the lies exposed, they want the people who hurt them to be punished. They want justice. While Justice is good and people should have to pay the consequences of their sins. Where is the compassion and intercessors who will pray for these exposed men and women of God? Where are the compassionate hearts? Should we not forgive them? If not, then what did Jesus die for?

Every single one of us have made mistakes and done things we are not proud of and would never want anyone to know about. Now it doesn’t justify their behaviors and I am not saying what they did was ok. But my question is, “why are we so quick to judge others and condemn them for their sin, but we are not willing to pray for the very same people we call brothers and sisters in Christ.

Should we not intercede for them and their hurting families?

Not only is there exposure happening, there has been a spirit of repentance released. I have seen many people condemn high profile leaders for wrong doing and pray for exposure. Once that person has admitted their faults and repented, we are still shouting, “kill him.” I have seen people I care about, ministries and businesses, admit fault and truly repent and still get thrown to the wolves!

We are desperately praying for exposure, and then when it happens and they repent, we still try and crucify them.
When they sin, we shout, “Kill them”
When they repent, we shout, “kill them”
Oh, how my heart grieves.

If the Christ followers cannot even trust their own people to protect them and pray for them when they are exposed, what kind of example are we showing the world? We are a bunch of religious hypocrites!

It grieves my heart that we say we love Jesus, but we are so quick to destroy one another. How can we truly be disciples when Jesus said, John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Friends, I am not saying that people should not have consequences. However, I am saying, I think we can do better. I think we should do better. We need to be careful church, every one of us is susceptible to Satan’s lies and schemes, if you think you are immune, you are already deceived.

Lord, give us your heart for your people. Help us to love one another as you have called us to love. Forgive our prideful, judgmental selves. Help us to help each other in times of crisis, Father, help us to be more like you and less like us.
